Bonded fused glass

This was a commission undertaken in 2005 for a landing window in a domestic house. The window had to give privacy but still allow plenty of light into the space. The clients also did not want a traditionally leaded window. The colour preferences were given to me by the clients for which I produced several designs before they chose this one.

There are 42 individually fused pieces, some containing fern fronds fused into the glass which were then bonded onto a piece of toughened glass. The whole panel was then used as the internal face of a double-glazed window unit.
